UK bedding size guide: duvet covers, fitted sheets and pillowcases

White fitted sheet styled on a bed

Getting the size right is the simplest way to make bedding feel better. A duvet cover that is too small will pull and twist. A fitted sheet that is too shallow will work loose at the corners. A pillowcase that does not match the pillow size will never sit neatly.

Standard UK duvet cover sizes

  • Single: 135 x 200cm
  • Double: 200 x 200cm
  • King: 225 x 220cm
  • Super King: 260 x 220cm

Most Bramshaw launch duvet sets are listed in the key everyday sizes, with Double and King as the core launch focus.

Standard UK fitted sheet sizes

  • Single: 90 x 190cm
  • Double: 135 x 190cm
  • King: 150 x 200cm
  • Super King: 180 x 200cm

Mattress depth matters as much as width and length. If you use a deep mattress topper, check the sheet depth before buying so the elastic can sit securely beneath the mattress.

Standard pillowcase size

A standard UK pillowcase is usually 50 x 75cm. Pillowcase pairs are useful for adding a spare set, changing the look of the bed, or pairing a duvet set with extra pillows.

When to size up

For a deeper, more generous look, some people size up their duvet on a smaller bed. That can create more drape at the sides, but only do it if the bed frame and room proportions can handle the extra fabric.
